I am a 24-year-old Punjabi Indian girl getting married to a Punjabi man from Boston. My wedding is planned for this December. Kindly suggest an appropriate theme for the Roka ceremony.

For the Roka ceremony, following ideas can be incorporated:

For a typical Punjabi feel phulkari dupattas can be used as drapes at the entrance along with parandi as tie-ups for the drapes.
Use a lot of flowers like marigold and mogras at the hallway, which will give a very warm feeling. Traditional rangolis can also be drawn at the entrance to welcome the guests.
Light up the place with floating diyas, which will give an authentic effect to the entire deco.
Lively Punjabi folk troupe can also perform to the sounds of dholaks and dholkis.
