Simple yet stylish wedding invites

The traditional wedding invitation has changed little over the years. Its essential purpose is to invite your guests and to tell them where and when your wedding is being held. Most other information is superfluous. It is that simplicity, coupled with fine paper and distinctive engraving, that make formal wedding invitations so elegant.
Wedding Invitations is one of the most important aspects of wedding planning. It is here that one can create an impact and set a theme for the entire celebrations.
One can customise the invite according to the preference, for eg: a traditional invite with shlokas from Vedas or the new fusion designs with lots of poetry and calligraphy. Also, the color schemes used in the invite can be matched with the souvenirs. The recent trend being a single colour combination running through the entire wedding.

Always remember to create an invite to match the style of the wedding. Use simple handmade paper, keep the envelope plain and simple to be more cost effective.
For theme invites, relate the text to the theme or attach a theme souvenir. For example a beach wedding invite could be a shell with screen-printing or on handmade paper with shells.
Some useful tips:
Order invitations at least three months before the wedding to allow plenty of time for their preparation, addressing and mailing. For engraved invitations order them even four months ahead.
Invitations need to be sent out four to six weeks prior to your wedding date!
Order atleast 50 more invitations than you think you need. It can be very expensive to order additional invitations at the last minute - and you may not get them in time! You'll need extra invitations for any mistakes made in addressing the envelopes, any "last minute" additions to the guest list, and a few for keepsakes.
Courtesy titles such as Mr., Miss and Mrs. are always used. The title "Ms." should be reserved exclusively for business correspondence and should never be used on a wedding invitation.
An invitation should give guests the following information: who, what (ceremony and/or reception), when, and where, plus directions or a map.
