Green Weddings: Travelling The Green Miles
|
The newly wed couple made sure that their auspicious Green Wedding was rounded off with a sweet green honeymoon, which involved trekking and camping in the wilderness of Sikkim. They even stayed in a village home for a night. Leena recalling fond memories of her honeymoon says, "A trek honeymoon was far better to me than having maybe a conventional honeymoon in Mauritius. It ensured that we as a couple had all the privacy on our honeymoon, as it was just the two of us on an offbeat trek route. If we chose a crowded honeymoon locale instead it wouldn't have been so enjoyable."
When asked what rules a responsible trekker should abide by, Leena answers, "A trekker shouldn't leave his/ her waste on the way. Always carry your waste in a bag or to a place where it can be decomposed instead of littering natural surroundings."
