A traditional Bengali wedding is a series of elaborate and colourful rituals. The melodious strains of Shehnai and the blowing of conch shell are typical characteristics of a Bengali marriage.
Let's attend a Bohri wedding
As most activities and events in the life of a Bohri occurs with the permission and approval of the religious leader,so does a marriage.
Catholic Wedding
The couple walks down the aisle with the wedding procession in tow. The priest begins the ceremony. He welcomes them into the Church and offers them his good wishes.
Maharashtrian Wedding
As the Mahurat approaches, the bride's mama comes to take her to the mandap. Their approach to the mandap is rather elaborate, as they are not allowed to take a peek at each other.
Malyalee Wedding
The bride may wear the traditional two piece sari, called Mundu, or any other sari of her choice. She is adorned with flowers and jewellery.
Marwari Wedding
A Rajput baraat consists entirely of male members. The bridegroom is usually dressed in a gold achkan, with an orange turban and a churidar or jodhpurs with jootis.
Parsi Wedding
The Zorastrians consider the period immediately after sunset or very early in the mornings auspicious for marriage. Most weddings generally take place at about 6.40 pm.

Sikh Wedding
The groom drapes a chunni draped by the brides father one end held by groom usually pink, red or orange around his neck, the other end of which is held by the bride throughout the ceremony.

The mangala snaanam is the auspicious and purifying bath that bride and groom must have in their respective homes on the dawn of their wedding day.
Sindhi Wedding
The bride & groom are seated in front of a holy fire and the priest recites various religious sayings from the Holy scriptures. According to the Hindu religion, fire is considered sustainer of life.
