Travelling With Wedding Guests
Taking Care Of Your Baraatis

- Food and drink: You also need to make arrangements for food and drink while travelling to the wedding location, especially if the wedding party will be travelling by road or train. Ensure that you pick food items that will not get spoilt easily and which are easy to eat in transit. The best way to handle this is to get separate food boxes made for all your guests and hand them out at meal times. Make sure you have kiddy boxes as well for your younger guests!
- Handling luggage: If you're travelling by air, you won't need to worry about luggage handling. But if you're travelling with your baraatis (wedding party) by road or rail, it is best to have everyone's luggage in one place rather than with the individual guests. Ask your guests to keep a small carry-on bag where they can keep things they need while travelling (and money or jewellery) with them and hand over the rest of their luggage to you.
Tag the bags with the guests' names and make a list of how many bags each guest handed over. Collect all the bags in the same manner and store it in the same place (could be a separate train compartment or luggage carrier etc). This way, your guests will not have to worry about safeguarding their luggage while travelling and just 2-3 people can be given the job of doing so. Upon arrival, check the nametags on the bags and hand them over to their respective owners. Double check with the luggage list and cross off names once all the bags of a particular guest are returned.
