- Foreign travel requires a passport and a visa. If you don't have one or your passport needs to be renewed, do it immediately. Take photocopies of your passport and keep them safely. After your wedding make copies of your marriage registration certificate and keep them handy during travel. Remember that if you are a woman and have changed your name after marriage and in case your passport or other documents do not reflect this name change, it is better to travel under your maiden name, till your documents reflect such change. Check with your travel agent or local Consulate office with regard to the visa requirements and guidelines and make the appropriate applications.
- Once you've chosen the country of your visit, bear in mind the fact that nothing can equal the professional expertise and experience of a travel agent. A number of travel agents provide attractive package deals. Check with family and friends for the best travel agent who is reliable.

- Always keep your passport, money, airplane tickets and other important papers in a security belt or pouch on yourself.
- Check out from sites or from friends about special tours, restaurants etc. at your honeymoon destination.
- Don't forget to make a list of names, addresses and phone numbers of family and friends at home in case of an emergency. Do leave a copy of the same in your itinerary as well.
- Mark your luggage with a colorful tag. Write your name, address and also fix an itinerary along with the tag, so that even if there is delay in getting your luggage, it will reach you at your destination.
- Buy a good guidebook of the country you are visiting and read it. This will guarantee you a great honeymoon.
- Always carry bottled water with you wherever you go and keep yourself hydrated.
