A Holiday To Remember
|
Then again, sometimes a partner needs a break now, but a husband or wife cannot take time off work. In such cases, a holiday postponed is nothing short of a holiday denied.
When solo breaks make sense
Undoubtedly, these are situations when a partner desperately needs a break and should get one. If you find yourself in this situation, don't shirk from taking a well deserved break to recharge your batteries. You might actually find you enjoy lolling around a bedroom alone without having to remind your partner to pick up his sopping wet towel from the bed, or listening to music throughout the night or shopping till you drop - without your partner berating you for indulging.
In fact, the solo break may qualify as well worth it, if it also inspires you to appreciate your partner all the more when you get back!
Inspite of these odd circumstances, never forget that there is no comparing that photo album of your solo travels to your memories of family holidays. Besides making for a more affordable (per head) break as well as assuring the support and company of your loved ones who in turn don't have to worry about your whereabouts, a well thought out family holiday is a great investment in togetherness. Just remember the key word - think through your holiday in advance. Make arrangements for every member to do a lot of their favourite pastime and the bare minimum adjusting! That'll make for a perfect holiday.
