Apart from these indoor options, you can also have your wedding in the splendid lawns around the Palace. Even in summer when it can get very hot in Jodhpur, putting up Shamianas (large private tents) enables you to have an extremely comfortable affair.
Fine Dining: Umaid Bhavan Palace has various restaurants such as the Risala, Marwar, Kebab Corner, and the Trophy Bar to cater to all the dining needs of your wedding guests. Apart from traditional Indian and Marwar cuisines, the Hotel also serves Continental cuisine.
Here's a little of what you can expect of a grand wedding at the Umaid Bhavan Palace:
- Arriving at the Palace in air-conditioned limousines, royal camel carts, or horse drawn carriages. A procession of horsemen and a live band welcoming you and your wedding guests on arrival. A traditional welcome with floral garlands and red tikka (temporary red mark on the forehead)
- Sangeet (musical evenings) parties with traditional Rajasthani folk singers and Ghoomar (dance form) dancers in attendance.
- Wedding processions complete with torch bearers, horses, camels, and caparisoned elephants. Showering of flower petals on all the wedding guests.
- Mehendi (henna) artists, bangle makers, and jooti (traditional Rajasthani footwear) makers in attendance for the entertainment of your guests.
Apart from the wedding ceremonies and celebrations, your wedding party can also participate in various other activities at and around the Palace. These include:

Getting there: Jodhpur is well connected to all major cities in India through the railway and road network. Airport is about 5 kms from the Palace and flights are available to most major cities in India.
