Tourists Go Missing In Ireland

Tourists Go Missing In Ireland There is a strange phenomenon-taking place in Ireland, now that it has transformed into a popular holiday destination - tourists don't seem to want to leave.

It has often been said that Ireland has the power to embrace you and never let you go. And for once the myth rings true. In the past three years the gorgeous Emerald isle, better known as Ireland, has rapidly become the number one choice for Indians who have a penchant for travelling. What's more remarkable, once there, it seems they rarely ever want to come back.

Being the third largest island in Europe, Ireland boasts of a scenic coastline that stretches across 3,172 kilometres. The Irish countryside has an alluring quality, its history is almost tangible and the people seem to welcome anyone with a smile.

Nightlife:
As the largest city in Ireland, Dublin is known to be one of the most youthful cities, attracting locals and tourists alike with its vibrant nightlife. Wandering across the Ha' Penny Bridge over the River Liffey, one is transported to a magical maze of cobbled streets, each one lined with clubs and restaurants serving the finest cuisine in Ireland for you to choose from.

Ireland is also famous for its lively folk music and dance. Walk into any club, and you are sure to be pulled into a world of spontaneous celebration that is a true pleasure to experience. St. Peter's, one of the most highly recommended clubs is perfect for a little gossip and of course, the friendly banter that lasts till the wee hours of the morning, turning strangers into long-lost friends. It's no surprise that Ireland has been voted the friendliest destination in the world by the Lonely Planet Blue List 2008.

Castles:
The people of Ireland are defined by their culture and strengthened by their rich heritage. Today, the old churches and castles have become favoured tourist sports. The Blarney Castle, neat the River Martin, is perfect for the itinerant tourist, with extensive gardens and magnificent rock formations, that have today been given fanciful names like 'Wishing Steps' and 'Witch's Cave'.

For a hearty dose of Irish history with a dash of aristocratic fantasy, The Dromoland Castle is probably the best bet. Located in County Clare, the ancient castle is now transformed into a luxury hotel with majestic rooms and champion-level golf courses that are truly fit for a king.

Legends:
Fairies, leprechauns, giants and banshees, Ireland has always been famous for its superstition and folklore. The legend of the Giant's Causeway has been handed down from generation to generation for over two thousand years. Apparently, the causeway was once the setting of a duel for supremacy between two giants. Located in Antrim Country in Northern Ireland, this natural wonder was actually the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. Made up of countless six-sided basalt rocks meshed together, it's easy to loose oneself in the breath-taking view that the Giant's Causeway has to offer.

Getting Around:
Ireland is easy with all the transportation modes available in the country. A wide array of hotels and accommodations catering to everyone from luxurious jet-setters to budget backpackers, makes staying in Ireland very feasible.

Indeed, there are countless reasons why the average tourist would simple love Ireland. Brilliant attractions, long afternoons spent in cafes with some of the friendliest people you will ever meet and of course the fifty shades of green surrounding you from every angle. Indeed, there is no better island for a tourist to be lost in.
