Celebs Go Nostalgic About Their Teachers
|
But can you imagine the days when the celebrities were part of the same education system? Do you think they were studious? Did they aspire to be an astronaut or a politician? And most of all, did they ever have a secret crush on their teachers that they never revealed to anyone, yet? This Teacher's Day, Shaaditimes finds out...
Achla Sachdev (Model, Actor): I hated reading schoolbooks. My favourite professor was Mr. Bhiwandiwala in N.M. College, Mumbai. I was weak in Accounts and the professor used to take special time out for me and taught me the subject for free. He is still in touch with me.
Teaching is a noble profession. When we are students, we don't know what it takes to be a teacher. But we realize it later and it may be too late for us to thank for what they did for us.
Bikram Saluja (Model, Actor): Well, I do remember my favourite school teachers. I remember Mr. Ansari and I'm still in touch with him since 11th standard. He used to be our English teacher and then there were Mr. Bajwa and Ms. Budhwar as my favourite teachers. I remember them still. They taught me in the public school in Indore. I liked them for their ideals and firm beliefs.
Anu Malik (Music Composer): I remember my French teacher in school, Ms. Bagadou, who came visiting me once when I was sick. Also, Mrs. Saroja who taught us English in school. I remember her cause I once corrected her pronunciation of a word and it was funny as she was our English teacher and she is suppose to teach us correct pronunciations.
I had a crush on Mrs. Nancy, my French teacher in Mithibai, who was a stunning looking, beautiful and decent woman. I used to be in her class just to look at her. I was just 18 at that time.
The students must respect their teachers more as they leave their small kids and bear tantrums from their family members, just to teach the students. They must be grateful of their teachers who teach them to be independent.
Purab Kohli (Channel V VJ, Actor): I was a mischievous student of St. Stanislaus, Mumbai. My favourite teacher was Hope De Souza, the strictest in the school. She taught us Geography and English in 8th standard. She was strict but had a nice way of tackling things. I remember that she would pick one of us, just 10 minutes before the recess, to buy her something to eat. In fact, she was special to everyone in my class at that time.
Once during one of our chemistry experiments in school, Mr. Heeramate was mixing two chemicals in different containers. When he started pouring from one test tube into a conical flask, I shouted, "BOO!" He got scared and dropped everything on the floor. I remember that he slapped me in front of everyone, as he got really upset with me.
I've had my fair share of crushes too. My first crush was Mrs. Singh, when I was in 5th std in Bishop School, Pune. My second crush was Ms. Smith who taught us from 8th - 10th std.
Milind Soman (Model, Actor): We must teach others to read and write and it can be anyone including your driver, maid, watchman, liftman, makeup artist and even some one from your family. It is important to educate as it helps in fulfilling dreams. I don't particularly recall any favourite teachers from school.
Jimmy Shergill (Model, Actor): I never had any crush on any teacher because they were all men and old women.
Deepak Tijori (Actor, Filmmaker): I was not an athlete in school. But our sports teacher was an athlete, John Crasto, in Antonio De'Souza High School, Mumbai. The grey hair footballer had a special corner in his heart for me. Given a chance, I would like to go back to school and make him proud by training myself the way he wanted.
I had a crush on my English teacher, Ms. Remkhi, in Jamnabai Narsee School. She used to look very hot and fantastic in sarees. Once I was lost in her, kind of looking through her, while she was teaching. She asked me something and I was still lost looking at her.
These days there is a lot in the news about teachers losing their temper. So the mercury is rising. I think these teachers should take chill pills. Teachers should be with the generation, go with the generation and not to change the generation, which is never going to happen.
Pooja Bedi (Model, Anchor, Actor): I remember calling one of my teachers from the Lawrence School, Sanawar, Mr. B. Singh "mucchu " because of his big moustache. I never had any crushes on my teachers because there were good-looking guys around us all the time in school. Teachers today should make learning fun so that the students can absorb more.
