Break dancing and breaking bowling records
That's Sreesanth for you
He has rhythm in his bowling and lightning in his feet. Off the field, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, who idolises Prabhu Deva, has won a few break dance competitions in the past. On it, the flamboyant new star of Indian cricket is set to break a few bowling records.
Sreesanth's image got a big boost on the tour to South Africa last year. In the first Test at Johanessburg's Wanderers stadium, Sree, as friends and admirers call him, produced a hostile spell of 5-40 that helped India bounce back on the tour after a disastrous display in the ODIs. The Proteas were skittled out for just 84 and Sree was adjudged the Man of the Match.

If his pace and swing keep him in headlines, so does his in-your-face aggression. He was fined after breaching the ICC's advertising logo policy, and also for "conduct contrary to the spirit of the game", when he showed Hashim Amla the way to the pavilion after dismissing him. But his 15 minutes of television came when, after hitting Andre Nel out of the park, he broke into a war dance that would have Elvis Presley blush and Prabhu Deva proud.
When he is not playing cricket, Sree likes to surf the Web, download songs on his I-pod and of course, perfect the nuances of dance. His penchant for music again came to the fore when Sreesanth penned Hindi lyrics for a music video, which urges the Boys in Blue to bring the World Cup home. His brother Dipu Sreesanth, who is producing the video, says Jago India - one of the tracks in the album is expected to top the charts in Kerala.
