Sixty years ago, on August 15, 1947, the tri colour of India proudly fluttered high and smiled at the Independent India. India breathed the air of freedom on that day. That freedom did not come easy.
It demanded the lives of hundreds and thousands of unnamed Indians who fought alongside of the National leaders. This slideshow is a tribute to those leaders who gave us a free India and to those fighters who smilingly gave up all they had - for their children, for us.
