Christmas... the Indian way!

 On the Fifth Day of X-mas my true love gave to me, "Five golden heart pendants," jokes socialite and grooming expert Chhaya Momaya.
According to Chhaya the best gift she's received, "Is a cookbook that my husband Nirmal gifted me when we were dating. The most poignant gift would be a card from my son who especially made it for me."
 On the Sixth Day of X-mas my true love gave to me, "Six Kisses," jokes director-writer Rakesh Bakshi.
The best gift he's ever received? "The love of a woman," he says promptly. The most memorable and tender gift he says was the love of his father, the late award-winning lyricist Anand Bakshi.
On the Seventh Day of X-mas my true love gave to me , "Seven songs from the golden oldies by Frank Sinatra,"  says Gia Sharon, the elegant Director of Ravissant, one of the leading boutiques in Mumbai.
The best gift she's received? "My daughter," she says without hesitation.
The most poignant gift? She laughs before answering, "Romantic kisses on a moonlit beach under the stars..."
 On the Eight Day of X-mas my true love gave to me , "Eight lives of bliss," says Bollywood actress Ritu Shivpuri.
The best gift she's received? "The love of my father and husband... the two men in my life." According to Ritu the most poignant gift she's ever received is the gift of love. Nothing can ever top that, can it?
On the Ninth Day of X-mas my true love gave to me , "Nine wedding presents," laughs renowned choreographer, Farah Khan, who is married to her true  love in early December this year. Khan revealed with a sense of pride (and admiration) that the best gift she's ever received was her SUV, which was gifted to her by Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan after the completion of their movie, "Main Hoon Na ".
Farah loves Christmas and admits, "Yes, I try and put up a tree, we exchange gifts and we also have a Christmas dinner, though I don't make traditional food always. But, this year I will be away on our honeymoon."
 On the 10th Day of X-mas my true love gave to me , " A ten carat emerald ring," says Nirmal Zaveri owner of TBZ Nirmal Zaveri. The best endowment ever received, " My grandchildren,'' he boasts. And the poignant gift is the birthday card his 5 year-old granddaughter made for him.
On the 11th Day of X-mas my true love gave to me , "Eleven trips to Goa," gushes the vivacious Pooja Bedi. "I love the sunshine and water," she admits.
 Pooja says the best gift she's ever received was "The vacation I took last year with my father (actor Kabir Bedi) to Goa. It was just a father-daughter holiday and the first time we took a break from our busy schedules to spend time together. It's something I will always cherish." Another poignant memory is a card her daughter made, "She thanked me for gratitude, strength, love and hope... all the things Christmas stands for," reminisces Pooja.
 On the 12th Day of X-mas my true love gave to me , "Twelve criticisms," says television personality and actor Javed Jaafri. "Yes, it's good to get criticized once in a while... it adds character," he muses.
The best gift he's ever received? "The birth of my younger son," he says without hesitation. "It was unplanned and my wife announced that she was pregnant on my birthday. And the most poignant gift is definitely the love of my family."
In this spirit of optimism we sportingly turn the page of the calendar to another year... another year of hope, enthusiasm and blessings...here's to a better tomorrow...a great 2005!
