One of the essentials for any Indian bride regardless of community, background, geographic strata or socio-economic status is the traditional ornaments that adorn her as she enters into matrimony. This ritual can be traced back to the dawn of time 5000 years or so and has withstood the test of time.
Jewellery in various forms has been made and worn by both sexes in almost every human culture, on every inhabited continent. Personal adornment seems to be a basic human tendency and jewellery, particularly, when made with precious materials, is generally considered valuable and desirable. Some cultures have a practice of keeping large amounts of wealth stored in the form of jewellery. In India, daughters are considered a form of the Goddess Laxmi and at the time of marriage it is an Indian custom to give her in matrimony with "wealth" usually in the form of gold ornaments and kind. Today, tradition has changed its guise to include fashion, utility, style and taste in addition to the "value" and investment appeal. For most women not only gold but..." diamonds are a girls best friend." And more so at the time of the wedding. It also provides an opportunity to reveal one's creativity through choice and selection while embellishing and enhancing one's aura, clothing, and overall beauty.
Shaaditimes gives you the latest on the" brilliant baubles" showing you timelessness in treasures for weddings.
This season adorn yourself with not just traditional yellow gold but with white gold, platinum, titanium, semi-precious and precious stones for your pre-wedding and wedding ceremonies. And today's time every girl wants to have different set of jewellery for each of these functions. Her preferences vary, from traditional gold jewellery (especially in north and south India) to the wedding with diamond and coloured stones or pure diamond jewellery for the reception. Jadau is still a favourite with certain communities."
