Grooming the groom

Colour for dimension
Coming to that very popular trend of colouring, experts advise going easy on the colour. Says, Nalini, "Colour does add an interesting touch but we always advise the blended look especially for marriages." Javed recommends streaking as more trendy than colouring. "It adds to the personality, makes it more vibrant. Highlighting with gold or khakhi colours is very much in fashion. These two colours bring out the best in the Indian complexion." Vineet concurs saying, "If your are fair then blonde or touches of gold look nice and for darker complexions it is shades of duller brown that add that extra touch." A little hint of colour, perhaps, a highlight here or there... would definitely add depth and dimension to the volume of hair. Definitely a class apart.

It's as easy as our experts say. Simplicity is in and sophistication and class follow the neat look. Marrying the gentleman look with princeliness has never been this easy!

Tips:
  • In case your hair is coloured, then it becomes essential to wash it with a conditioner to maintain its shine. For soft hair that needs keeping in place a hair serum is the safest bet. - Javed Habib.
  • A little bit of dye is always advisable if one has gray hair to hide but dyes are at best avoidable because they steal the hair of its natural shine.
  • If one has dandruff it is best to treat it in days or weeks in advance of the wedding.
  • For too fine hair it is best to avoid any products. Thick and bulky hair gel is the best bet. - Vineet Desai.
  • Poker straight rebounded look is out and mild straightening with a technique called Extenso is popular. - Vineet Desai.
  • Keeping it simple with a well routined wash and conditioner is all that is required. - Cory Walia
  • A parting adds that extra dash more often than not. - Javed Habib
