Filmfare Awards 2009
|
The 54th Filmfare Awards took place on 28th February at the Yash Raj Studio in Andheri and was a glittering affair. The evening was hosted by hottie newcomers Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan who shared a chemistry not unlike what was seen on stage last year between Saif and SRK.
The duo started off the show by saying, ''Hum jo kuch kahenge accha kahenge'' commenting on the fact that Saif and SRK last year mocked much of the elite industry. They carried on in the same vein and had people laughing in the aisles. Later in the show Ranbir dressed up as SRK in Rab Ne... and Imran as Aamir in Ghajini and mocked the two ruling Khans all in good fun.
Performing on stage were Bipasha Basu who grooved to all the peppy numbers from Race to Aa Dekhen Zara wearing a really tiny silver outfit and showing off those gorgeous legs. Neil Nitin Mukesh joined her for some of the sequences and looked good too.
Shahid Kapoor, who is a superb dancer, also performed fantastically. But it was Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan who really brought the house down with their scintillating on stage appearances. Another surprise in store for all the guests was the rocking performance by Rock On!! Farhan and Shankar Ehsaan Loy.
SRK was not supposed to attend the event due to his recent shoulder surgery, but he did show up with his arm in a sling. Priyanka, Preity, Sushmita, Aishwarya, Rekha, Bipasha, Deepika, Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Vidya Balan were all present for the event but Rani Mukherjee was conspicuous by her absence. Hrithik too missed the show. Aamir as usual did not turn up but John, Abhishek, Shiny Ahuja, Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan lit up the night with their presence.
