Shimla-Chail-Manali-Chandigarh

By train from Mumbai to Ambala Cantt, from there on in a mini train to Shimla. From Shimla to Chail by cab, from Chail to Manali by cab and bus, from Manali to Chandigarh by cab, from Chandigarh to Delhi by Shatabdi Express, from there back to Mumbai by flight.
Chail is beautiful, its population is not more than 1000 people. Very peaceful place, full of mountains. Shimla is good for light shopping at the Mall road. We stayed at the Whispering Rock resort at Manali, which is far away from the city and close to the mountain towards the Rohtang pass. It is a beautiful resort and especially because the architecture of the resort is very good and is completely done up with wood. Rock garden is the only attraction at Chandigarh.
Never do booking through a travel agent because they sometime mess up with the booking dates. I spent a lot of money on cab, it turned out to be very expensive. Go for rent-a-car from Delhi, who would take you for the complete tour.
I would like to go back to Chail because its the most beautiful place. Chandigarh was very hot during June so I might not opt for Chandigarh during summer.
