Mauritius
Primarily because of its climate. We did not want to go to a sizzling cold place. In December, most of the places are pretty chilly. But Mauritius is quite pleasant. Besides that, I am keen on water sports. And Mauritius is an amazing place for water sports. The beaches are absolutely beautiful and serene.

We travelled by Air Mauritius from Mumbai. At Mauritius, we hired local taxis to go around the place.
We stayed in Meridien. That itself was such a beautiful place. The view from the lobby was a visual treat - the pool, the beach... everything looked breathtaking. We visited Sunset Boulevard, Blue Bay and Waterfront Mall. All places were delightful.
It may sound like a cliché, but Mauritius is a beautiful place. If you are a person who enjoys nature, Mauritius is the ideal place for you. The beaches are really clean and the sights are very pretty. You can totally be at peace with yourself. The climate is very pleasant - not very cold nor hot and humid. Do not miss the water sports there. They are lots of fun. Para-sailing, kayaking, water skiing - try all of them.
The underwater walk was an experience of a lifetime. For 30 whole minutes I was in a different world altogether. I am glad I did not miss this opportunity. The whole experience was simply fantastic and I am going to treasure it for the rest of my life.
