Would you marry someone you've never met? Mukesh Joshi Aarti Arora Maushmi Udeshi Mukesh Joshi, Retired Government Officer
"I don't think that today's generation would settle for something like this. Today meeting each other and knowing each other before marriage is a compulsion. Even in our times though we were not so open about our feelings, yet people generally met the girl before getting married. Even I met my wife though in the presence of elders before getting married."

"No I don't think so. How can you marry someone you don't know? I can never spend the rest of my life with someone I've never met. I think before getting married you should at least go around for a year or so, so that both the partners can understand each other and know whether or not would they be compatible. After all nobody wants to take a risk."

Aarti Arora, Executive Administrator
"It is difficult to marry someone you've never met because there is always that initial excitement and anxiety to see that someone special who you'll spend your entire life with.
But if you talk to him or get to know about him through phone or email and find out if he's compatible enough, then I think it wouldn't be a problem.
Also, I don't give any importance to looks or any other external factors, so if by talking to him I find that he's the right guy then my opinion wouldn't change after we meet."
