Honest and blunt or dishonest and diplomatic? Kanwaljeet Avdhoot Vinod Sawant Anuja Jadhav Kanwaljeet, Television Actor
I don't see anything wrong in white lies... provided you are able to avoid hurting someone's feelings unnecessarily. As an actor I am constantly on the move and in situations where I work I have found that diplomacy wins over bluntness. Although honesty is the best policy... sometimes that may not be the case.

I believe it is always better to be honest at any cost. I must clarify it depends on the situation though. In the workplace and even at home you have to diplomatic if the circumstance warrants it. You don't want to upset your colleagues or members of the household such as parents with abrasive remarks that they may not take kindly too. Also women tend to be more sensitive than men when it comes to criticism.

Anuja Jadhav, College Librarian
A person should be honest. By honesty I mean at least 90% of the time with the remaining 10% left to self-reliance. This means, if the situation mandates, being dishonest to protect someone's feelings like the husband, family, or something career related. In these situations being diplomatic is better. Sometimes you feel if you tell someone the truth it will initially hurt their feelings. At that time you have to tell yourself that its better for me to tell that person even if they are angry rather than having some outsider tell them the truth, at a later time, when things could be taken out of proportion.
