This is definitely a myth. I think only teenagers who have just fallen in love for the first time believe in this in a very idealistic way. But sometimes it is just an infatuation or a crush. Some even get married and then realise that they are actually not in love. People fall in and out of love and then again find love in some other person. In this jet speed world you might fall in love in more than once and this is very natural.

Though we hear this a number of times in Bollywood movies, it's not practical. It is perfectly normal to fall in love more than once and with more than one person in a lifetime. If this was true then there would be no divorces and remarriages in the society. Again the fact that you can fall in love again and again gives hope to many people to continue with their lives even if they lose their beloved or become separated from them due to some unfortunate twist of destiny.

You may have a crush or an infatuation a number of times in your life, but love can happen only once. And you should get married only when you fall in love as this solves all your problems. If you love a person you will be able to accept him as he is - with his qualities and drawbacks - and whatever may happen you will love him always.
