Marriage is a very personal thing. Each one of us has the liberty to choose our own partner. I don't think a vast age difference should be a big issue. In fact, I feel this difference could make one feel secure and insured under one's partner. It is love and not age that works in a marriage, and understanding coupled with maturity helps the relationship run smoothly. While every relation must have these qualities, in such relationships a combination of love, fidelity, faith and mutual understanding works better.

There is a right time for every thing and this goes for marriage as well. While there should be some age difference between the two, a vast gap could cause problems at a later date. For instance, the older person may not be able to fulfill the 'needs' of his or her partner, due to the age difference. Also, the older person may be looking merely for a companion rather than a partner. Such a situation may look good in films or serials, but seems absurd in real life. Two people with vast age difference can be friends, but marriage - it's a big NO.

Marriage is a very important institution. If two people are happy, an age difference would not make too much of a difference. However, I personally believe that marriage should be between two people of approximately the same age. It's difficult to even imagine the circumstance that would occur if a man aged 45-50 years marries a young girl in her early twenties or even in her late 20's.
Marriage is not a game or a joke; it is something far different. It is a stage where you enter a new stage in life, and walk along the road with your partner.
Any person who marries has some dreams and aspirations from marriage. If a girl marries an older man or if a young boy ties the knot with an older woman do you think the vehicle of their marriage will run smoothly? It just can't.
