 Here is the story of two such individuals as different as chalk and cheese yet at a closer perusal as similar as their left and right eyes. The story of Sweta and Sudarshan is one that will tug at your heart strings as it displays that beauty and love is truly in the eyes of the beholder.
The story reads like an amazing filmi story but is as real as it can get.
Initial contact
Sweta had no idea when she signed on to shaadi.com that her dreams of happily ever after would arrive much sooner than she had anticipated. She was amazed at the overwhelming reaction to her quest in finding her soul mate. Unlike other girls Sweta was hearing impaired thus her chances of finding a mate were in her eyes limited. Yet, like all young women, she had dreams of finding her knight in shining armour. After a short time, Sudarshan, entered her life and corresponded with her. Initially she was apprehensive, but she finally relented to her deep emotions and gave him a chance.
Adoration from distance
Sudarshan was in Africa when he clicked onto www.shaadi.com and came across her photo for the first time. He stopped, and looked and couldn't believe what he saw in her eyes. Something about her captivated him, and to say he was enthralled would be an understatement. " I saw her for the first time and just couldn't take my eyes of her, I stared at her eyes until I decided that I had found my better half, then I read what she had written about herself, and about her incapability of hearing...I couldn't believe what I read, there I was looking at the picture perfect Girl for whom; I felt as if- I saw an "Angel"." He read her bio-data and although he saw that she was hearing impaired he over-looked this criteria. "I struggled with a fight with myself whether to contact her or not to contact her. This went on till I came back to India in August 2005 when I decided to pay for 3-month membership to contact Sweta," he states wistfully.
First words...
"On the 11th of September 2005, I remember the day precisely, I contacted Sweta after a lot of thinking," he divulges before continuing, "I got her reply on the 13th of September 2005. She was apprehensive and hesitant. I don't blame her reluctance to proceed further as she was from a different world than myself."
Roses and friendship
He wrote to her that life wouldn't be a bed of roses, but if it was true love he hoped they both would find the maturity within themselves to give love a chance. And then he concluded even if their contact didn't lead to love at least they could attempt being friends. This honest confession won Sweta's approval. Although she didn't respond back to him initially. When she did finally reply, after some soul-searching, Sudarshan promised not to disappoint her and to start their relationship at the point of friendship with no expectations. She agreed.
They met on the 17th of September 2005 at The Forum in Bangalore. "We spent the whole day at Forum, it was lot of fun. We communicated by writing on the mobile phone, tissues, her book and finally on the notepad of a computer. She and I seemed to understand each other perfectly using lip reading," he says.
