The Colours Of Love - Brown

The Colours Of Love - Brown Sweet Temptations Let Love Rule

Why do couples squabble? Because they disagree on certain issues? Because they feel fatigued with the job of 'getting on with life'? Because they don't feel good about themselves?

Well - suppose a man and woman always felt good, that is, they experienced an ''all is well in my world'' kind of feeling, at least in each others presence. Plus, they felt that they had the stamina to run the extra mile (in bed or otherwise!) to keep their relationship not merely alive, but also kicking.

Would this couple still fight so bitterly? Probably not!

Celebrate your togetherness

It may sound corny but the Nescafe ads inspired Rajan to introduce a morning cup of mocha to his and his wife Amisha's day. What's more - he woke up 15 minutes earlier to do the needful!

It wasn't as though they constantly fought tooth and nail, but somehow their daily grind invariably took its toll, leaving them feeling grouchy towards each other. Looking after kids, work, household chores, staying in touch with his ailing father and distraught mother - everyday was packed with activities that stretched from dawn to dusk.

Amisha and he had precious little time together - until this coffee routine started. Initially, Amisha was sceptical of his idea. But she went along with him, as he was taking the initiative.

Mocha mornings

Just a few days into the new routine, the couple started feeling the difference. Rajan would tiptoe to the kitchen, make the coffee and tiptoe back. Like two child conspirators, they'd giggle over their morning cuppa.

This became their time to bond, and to share their hopes and anxieties for they day. You know what they say - 'well begun is half done'? Well - Rajan and Amisha completely endorse this perception. Sharing their plans gave them the strength to implement even the most difficult tasks during the day.

Unwind before you turn in

In fact, Rajan decided to take this endeavour a step further, to celebrate their togetherness every night before they turned in, after the kids had been put to bed.

This time, he took a leaf (nay pod) from the cocoa plant - he decided a bite of chocolate would perhaps invoke a feeling of companionship at the fag end of the day.

After all, so much has been written about that chocolaty feeling... or how chocolate is known to work as a stimulant, make women feel less inhibited, and in general, induce a euphoric sense of love and togetherness.

A Hershey's kiss at bedtime?

Rajan started out by offering Amisha a Hershey's kiss at bed-time. She was especially exhausted that evening, sitting out on the balcony. So when Rajan came up from behind, gently shut her eyes with his hand, held out a Hershey's kiss, uncovered her eyes and softly whispered "May I?" in her ears... she reciprocated with a smile that grew broader as the evening progressed!

Amisha and Rajan brought in a little brown to invoke a 'feel good' factor that would let love rule their relationship. Careful to include dark chocolate to curb their sugar intake, they explored a range of chocolates feeling like kids having an everyday treat!

Even so - they knew it wasn't so much about the coffee / chocolate but about spending the extra few minutes together without bickering. 'Brown' love is about feeling like a couple still very much in love. It's about infusing positive energy to your partnership.

Brown is about rejoicing the good stuff in life. About getting away from the mundane and indulging in the sinful - without guilt!

Why don't you add brown to your love today?
  • Buy a packet of coffee and a slab of chocolate to start and end your day celebrating your togetherness!
  • Run a bath and together soak in some salts before you turn in.
  • If you don't have kids, surprise your wife by serving her breakfast in bed.
