Going out on your first date? Follow these guidelines and enjoy!
 Choose the right place:
The most important thing to keep in mind while selecting a venue is to opt for a public place. Also, do not insist on a fancy place. It is in bad taste to opt for an expensive place as more than often the man will pick up the tab for the first date.
Dress right:
On the first date it's not a great idea to wear something very revealing. "Let there be some suspense about you", says fashion guru Anita Dongre. Be minimalist: less is more. Don't over do it. Keep your overall style simple. Wear minimal jewellery. Remember it's only a date, not a wedding. So don't overdo either the make-up or the accessories.
Talk time:
Talking excessively- This is very unattractive. Try and listen. Ask interesting questions. Before going out think of some interesting things to converse.
No sex please:
Try to develop bonds of friendship first, before going on to the next stage. Remember, you can only be lovers if you are friends first.
Cell phone manners:
It is rude to keep on talking on the cell or even SMSing. Avoid taking calls and give your date your undivided attention.
Blind date:
If you are going on a blind date, find out all about him/her from friends who set you up. This will put you at ease and if you do get to hear of some wrong things, opt out.
Do not be desperate:
Do not appear desperate to get married or in a relationship on the first date. This sends wrong signals and very often puts the other person 'off'.
Be yourself:
Women generally have in-built radars and can spot a phony a mile away. This of course applies to men also. Present your best side but always be yourself. Love will find you; it's that simple. Date deception may work on the first date but if you are interested in prolonging the relationship it becomes harder to enact a charade.
