Dubai - Shopping Together
Dubai, the destination of sand, sun, sea, and shopping is the winter choice for Malaika and Arbaaz Khan.
"This winter I wanted to visit Australia but the long flight wouldn't be practical for my little son Arhaan. Arbaaz and I therefore decided to visit Dubai," says Malaika. The city is a classic contrast between the modern high-rise contemporary city with superb beaches and an awesome desert."
Malaika describes Dubai as an extraordinary landscape. "I have planned my entire schedule for ten days whereby I plan to relax, sit and gaze at the massive dunes with my hubby, or, hire a boat and sail through the Dubai Creek. I plan to visit the Jumeira Beach Park with Arhaan. This lovely park faces the Jumeira beach and is a real treat for kids as there is a play area near the beach lined with shady palm trees. And of course I shall shop endlessly."
Goa - The Couple's Paradise
Goa, the paradise of silver beaches, architectural churches and lush palm trees is Niki and Sonny Walia's Christmas destination.
"We are planning to go for 3 to 4 days to chill out," says Niki. " The palm trees, silvery waves, whispering breeze and sun drenched stretches of sand make Goa my ideal holiday place. Alongside fun-filled nightlife Goa offers romance as well. I plan to laze around on the sands with Sonny and go for a hot-oil massage or go shopping for loose kurtis, scarves, and sarongs. We will spend the nights by a bonfire on the beach along with a cosy dinner."
"I love relaxing and relish the view the beach offers from the hotel room as it opens out onto the serenity of the Arabian Sea. I also thoroughly enjoy the glow of the setting sun as it spreads over the horizons."
"I have visited Goa mostly for work but this time I am going to explore the place, specially old Goa. The churches and Portuguese mansions with carved woodwork are a thing of beauty. And of course the city beaches that offer surfing and parasailing."
Lakshadweep Islands - Love is in the Waters
"The one thing we enjoy sharing, is our love for water. When you are underwater, all you hear is your own breathing, which makes you, realize that you have conquered fear. It's a different universe really where you don't go to the world; instead the world comes to where you are," explains Prahlad Kakkar. That's the reason the Kakkar family always visit Lakshadweep islands for the ultimate exotic diving experience.
"Be it the golden beaches, elongated coconut and palm trees or the clear blue waters of the coral lagoons, everything about Lakshadweep is magical," says Mitali. " I love going there with Prahlad as we both enjoy scuba diving. But more than that there's something inexpressibly romantic about this isolated island with its quiet and secluded atmosphere and the palm stretched beaches that makes Lakshadweep my romantic holiday spot."
"I love to just lie on the beach and listen to the soft rhythm of the breeze flowing along with the low sounds of the waves and believe me it's a romantic treat," claims Mitali.
Home - Where The Heart Is!
For Arshad and Maria Warsi, home is where the heart is! " Why go anywhere else when you can get cosy at home?" rhetorics Arshad. " In the afternoon on X'mas day, Maria has invited few close friends and family for a small collective lunch at home. At night I plan to cook a romantic barbecued dinner just for the two of us on our terrace."
"We both love to travel and go for holidays but both Christmas and New Year are specially celebrated at home as it is the only time one can get together with family and friends, which makes the occasion warm and loving."
Bali - Honeymooners Delight
Thriving green forests, exotic wildlife, and deep flowing waters of the Indian Ocean is the picture perfect honeymoon destination for fashion designer Payal Singhal. Payal who will be tying the knot on 28th December plans to honeymoon in Bali.
"We just plan to relax and enjoy the moment," says Payal. "Though I have heard a lot about Bali it's the first time I will be visiting the place."
