Workplace romance
Love rocks, even beyond your desktop

"Love finds it's way," an old cliché, that could not have been truer than in our age! Given the situation where two people destined to meet, eventually meet up either in a restaurant, college or through mutual friends. One such place for sure shot romance is perhaps your office. It's been proved time and again that workplace romances have become the No.1 spot when searching for your prospective partner.

A large number of people are romantically linked to someone from their workplace. And many more are likely to find their knight in shining armor in the neighboring cubicle. Can your co-worker really spice up your life forever? Does Cupid really belong to the workplace?

Statistics from an Internet survey states that 59 percent said they had had a workplace romance at some point in their careers. Another 17 percent said they had never dated a co-worker, but would. 24 percent said they never had an office fling and had no interest in doing so.

Meet some couples who found their better halves at work.

Navin & Livyat Finding love at one's workplace is bliss
"Finding love at one's workplace is indeed bliss, as when you start loving a colleague he/she becomes your companion first, allowing you to know the person completely. There is mutual admiration and a sense of respect. In effect, this enables you in judging whether or not you can spend the rest of your life with him/ her," quips Navin.

Navin met Livyat when he was working as a Captain at the Taj Connemara - Chennai and Livyat was a hostess in the coffee shop. "Technically I reported to him! During my stint there we hardly spoke, though one day he invited me for a movie and consequently for lunch. And I jumped at the offer. That's how we started dating each other," smiles Livyat.

People are usually different at work and at home
"We eventually became friends and our initial days before marriage were a lot of fun. We used to meet up quite often - sit on the beach and talk, but never for once did we let our colleagues know that we were dating. We wanted to keep our private and personal lives separate," quips Livyat. "I think people are usually different at work and at home. The actual behavior of the person is showcased while at work. The way he dealt with friends and seniors, his sense of responsibility towards work were qualities that attracted me towards Navin," she gushes.

Working in the same place can cause pain, anger, jealousy and ego hassles. However what really matters is to work towards the relationship without affecting one's work.
