Not just men, women do it too -- all the time. But just as men and women are different as chalk and cheese, so their motivation for infidelity is different too. While everyone may not agree with the saying: 'Men need a place and women a reason,' it kind of sums up intrinsically what the two sexes are all about.
With men, very often there are more reasons that correspond to the 'physical' and with women, the 'emotional.' But things are changing and today you have an equal number of men breaking the vows of fidelity, for emotional reasons too. But that's just half the story.
So why do men cheat? What are the myriad reasons that lead them to seek illicit thrills rather than the secure feeling that stems from a legitimate union?
As per the Kinsey Reports on human sexual behaviour that were published in the U.S almost 50 years ago it may have a lot to do with genetic make-up. The studies show that almost 60 percent of men cheat on their partners at some point in their lives. Subsequent studies have only confirmed the report.
So what causes men to go astray? Is it access to technology? Or are they just wired to 'cheat' more than women? Or is it an increased availability of willing partners?
