The husband is always right. Right?

Later I came to know that what happened that evening was just the beginning. Soha had found her way and she went ahead merrily from then on.

Perhaps others, especially males, didn't understand the change or the logic behind it in the beginning. They said Soha was losing her spark. She had started towing Amit's line on every issue. That most spirited girl in our group had become a submissive wife. Phrases like 'How silly of me', 'Now I know I was wrong', 'Amit, I am sorry', 'I was stupid not to see it in the beginning', had started spilling out of her mouth. She didn't stop talking of course, but as soon as she saw Amit getting worked up, she would cut short the discussion by accepting defeat, saying he was right.

Later almost everybody realised what Soha was up to. She had taken away the pleasure of arguing and winning from Amit. The man could no more reach the shouting level in his conversation. He couldn't call her names because she herself was doing it. The worst part was sometimes he knew that Soha was right and he was even ready to accept. But before he could do it, Soha would declare him the winner.

Amit is one very very unhappy conversationalist today. Once he was so frustrated, he burst out, "Damn it Soha, why can't you speak your mind?" Soha's answering voice was all sugar and honey, "Darling, I did speak but what to do if yours is superior to mine?"

Now Amit feels like the biggest loser whenever he wins an argument with Soha. Every time Soha calls herself silly, Amit feels the joke is on him.

First we laughed and now pity him. For his sake we pray that Soha may let him lose the argument once in a while.
