All's well that ends well?
"My father is having an affair with the lady who teaches him yoga. That was the reason my mother couldn't catch him. He was always in the office when my mom called, he didn't come home late, and he didn't make or receive mysterious phone calls. Morning was the only time when mom left him free from her watchful eyes and, that was the time when he was with the new woman in his life.'
"Oh!"
"I came to know by accident. During the college vacation, I too decided to join papa. Every morning I started going with him. It took me not more than a week to realise that the woman was more than a teacher to my father. My presence naturally put a strain on them. And it started showing. Within a short time my father started looking tense and irritated as before. So I stopped going."
"And he was back to being happy?" I asked.
"I think so."
"Are YOU happy?"
"I don't know. Right now I just know that papa and mom are happy. At least as happy as they could be after so many years of discontent," the girl said softly.
"But he is being unfaithful," I said.
"Being faithful is not always being happy." The girl had her own irrefutable logic.
"How long do you think this could go on?" I asked.
"Who knows?"
I didn't know what to say then. I still don't.
