Long Distance Marriage
 Joseph Cole asks,
I have met a girl and I want to marry her. We both have been speaking for months now. Problem is however, I live in the US and she lives in India. What is the best and fastest way to get her here (US) as my bride? We have discussed a few options like her getting a tourist visa. What do you suggest on this topic?
 Dear Joseph Cole,
You should travel to India, then marry the girl in India and return to USA and sponsor her for an Immigrant visa as your spouse. She will fall under immediate relative category and would be in a position to travel to USA without any quota restrictions. The petition, which you would file for her immigrant visa, may take year or more to process and approve. You can after filing the immigrant visa petition for her, file K-3 visa petition and she would be in a position to travel to USA within 6-8 months.
Otherwise after meeting the girl in person in India, you may return to USA and then file K-1 fiancée visa petition, which would be processed within 6-8 months. The girl then can travel to USA and marry you within 90 days and then you can sponsor her for a green card whilst she is staying with you.
