Sai Deodhar and Shakti Anand

Shakti Anand and Sai Deodhar Money is the number one cause of arguments among married couples, yet surprisingly few address this issue. Now with both the partners being earning members, planning finances is a big responsibility.

It is imperative that couples discuss important issues, such as handling debt, buying a home, planning for kids and retirement, creating a financial safety net with insurance and emergency funds.

Sai Deodhar and Shakti Anand

Do you consult each other before taking any important financial decisions?
Once you are married, it's not a question of my money or his money, the money is 'ours' and what is important is to manage it well.
So, it's extremely important to consult each other, especially in a profession like ours, which is so volatile. Future financial security is very important and for that you should invest wisely and only after proper consultation with each other and with the associated dealer / organization.

Who manages the finances?
Both of us, we haven't drawn any demarcations or lines; we take it as it comes. Both of us know that it's our hard earned money and we shouldn't be extravagant and spend it lavishly.

Do you hold individual or joint bank accounts?
Both.

Have you planned for the future? How?
Sai: As far as investments are concerned, Shakti is the more focused one between the two of us and has more knowledge. I trust him implicitly in this matter.

Shakti: I think it's best to invest in commercial property as you get very good returns later on. Shares are a bit too risky.
Have you ever fought over money?
No, never. Money means a lot but it's not everything and it's no point fighting over your own money. Whatever we earn belongs to both of us.
