We try to. But we both have busy schedules. But when it comes to taking important decisions, we definitely consult each other.
Who manages the finances?
We have a systematic way of managing our finances. We decide on a monthly allocation. So, you can say that we both manage our finances.
Do you'll hold individual or joint bank accounts?
We have one joint account.
Have you planned for the future? How?
We have. It's very important that we plan for the future. With our children growing up, we have started saving and investing wisely. Most of our investments have been in mutual funds and equities. We are looking at real estate as an option.
Have you ever fought over money?
Not really. Small arguments are a part of life. There are times I feel that Bharat is spending too much and I only have to tell him so. Then there are times when I buy something impulsively, and Bharat scolds me. But it is all in good spirit. Since we understand each other and make joint plans, there is no scope for a fight.
Bharat is a Senior Store Manager while Meenakshi is a private tutor.
