Your bedroom in your zodiac style
|
Virgo
You work with others in a steady, dependable, way - much like the design you aspire to create. Guided by an attention to detail and an innate knowledge of craftsmanship, you demand purity of purpose. You can't just throw any old ottoman in your room; it needs to have storage compartment for your books, and stitching that will stand the test of time. First, eliminate any clutter; a clean open space will soothe your nerves. Then accentuate with vases and candleholders in muted, organic materials. Simplicity - a light wood bed-frame and matching bookcase - is all you really require.
Your colours: Light blues, greens and creams, taupes and whites.
Libra
Represented by the scales, you always attempt to create balance in relationships - between thought, action and environment. In fact, Libra is the only sign of the zodiac represented by an inanimate object, and your airy nature means you thrive in a conceptual environment. Think: Feng Shui. You might not be able to see it to realise it's there! Libras have modern and pretty sensibilities - thin, breezy curtains and carefully curated art. Add lavender calendars for ambiance. And balance is the essence: Never one nightstand next to a bed without the other - you don't want to tip the scales.
Your colours: Pastels, airy greens and blues.
Scorpio
You know when a Scorpio is around. You'll feel their imposing presence. And you tend to either feel comfortable in a space or not at a very gut level. On one hand, you crave privacy: Muted lighting to create a cave-like feel, opaque curtains to allow just a glimpse of light in, but not a lot. Your dream space isn't so much bedroom as boudoir. Think exotic, alluring, and sexy with a bent towards the emotionally darker side of life. Try adding dark velvet accents. A bed with built-in drawers for storing your more intimate apparel. Sagittarius
You get along with everybody in a life-of-the-party kind of way. And there are several types of you: The Sagittarius freedom seeker / traveller who likes to display their adventures: "Take a look at this Buddha statue from Bali, and my photos from my trip to Kuala Lampur!" Then there's the fun-loving Sagittarius: "This may be a bedroom, but I have a wet-bar in the corner!" In every case, you crave comfort. Invest in big, fluffy pillows - lots of them, an uber-cushiony mattress. A collector, you may get overwhelmed by your travel trinkets. An armoire will help you organize.
Your colours: Any shade of the rainbow - or all, you're eclectic! But especially those toward the end of the spectrum prefer blues to lighter purples.
Aquarius
You tend to impose your unique, forward-thinking ideas. You're a step ahead of the rest of us - especially when it comes to tech. You've probably got the latest HDTV on your wall - or want one. But, whether you're the type who prefers linens and throws or gadgets and gizmos, the bottom line is: Aquarians need to be different. Your bedroom will boast at least one conversation-starter, whether it's the astronaut foam in your mattress or your metallic paint. Then again, it might be that retro quilt you snagged at the flea market. Sometimes you step out of the future and back in time. Either way, Aquarians are usually out-of-step in the best way: You know exactly who you are.

Capricorn
You make your presence known without dominating, but come across as grounded, solid, and sturdy. As the "adults" of the zodiac - responsible and disciplined - you gravitate toward sensible, grown-up decor. Your sensibilities tend toward strong, solid basics (like a wooden red-toned armoire with a big sturdy leather chair) and funky accents, like an earthy leopard-print rug. Be sure to leave a shelf open - or add a pretty glass display case - for all your trophies. Capricorns like to put their accomplishments on display, and since you work hard to achieve your goals, you usually have many!

Pisces
You're a go-with-the-flow type who soaks up the characteristics of others. Sometimes you soak up their emotions too. So your room needs to be a place where you can relax. Your bed is of prime importance: Make it soft, comfy and soothing, with luscious sheets and cocoon-like cashmere throw. Of course, you won't be happy unless this cozy haven reflects your creative vibe. Most fish have more talent in one fin than the rest of the zodiac combined. Choose art that's ethereal and dreamlike, like Van Gogh's "Starry Night". Your room is your entry point to dreamland, and that's where you get all your good ideas!
