Sugar Free Recipes For Health
 
Whether you've given up eating sugar because you're trying to lose weight or because you are diabetic, isn't it a shame that you cannot enjoy your favourite sweets and desserts because of their high sugar content?

Every now and then you find yourself getting tempted to eat that inviting piece of cake or those delicious looking gulab jamuns but you have to restrain yourself. Well, not any more. Here are some tasty sugar free recipes for health.

Hot Coffee Latte

Hot Coffee Latte 3 teaspoons filter or instant coffee
1 small stick of cinnamon
1 cup water
3 teaspoons sugar substitute (Equal or Sugar Free Natura)
1 1/4 cup skimmed milk
Pinch of cinnamon powder

Heat the water and add the coffee and cinnamon stick to it. Let it come to a boil. Add the sugar substitute and mix. Pour into 2 coffee cups. If using filter coffee, you can brew it with the water and then heat it or you can prepare in the same manner but strain before pouring into the cups.

Heat the milk till it is hot but not quite boiling. Cool a little and pour into a blender. Blend for 10-15 seconds. Thick foam should form at the top. Pour the milk into the two cups with the coffee. Spoon the foam equally into the 2 cups. Sprinkle cinnamon powder and serve.

Chocolate Strawberry Mousse

Chocolate Strawberry Mousse 250 gms dark cooking chocolate
2 eggs
125 gms sugar substitute (Equal or Sugar Free Natura)
200 ml fresh cream
1/2 cup fresh strawberries
2 teaspoons rum

Melt the cooking chocolate in a microwave oven or over a double boiler. Separate the egg white and the yolk. Add the egg yolks to the melted and cooled chocolate. Whip the fresh cream along with the sugar till it becomes slightly thick (consistency of a milkshake).

Whip the egg whites till absolutely stiff (it should not fall even if you turn the vessel). Fold the beaten egg white into the chocolate slowly. Add the cream and fold very gently. Add the rum and mix. Pour into small wine goblets and leave in the fridge for 4-5 hours to set. Cut the fresh strawberries and line the top of the mousse. Serve chilled.

Easy No-Bake Chocolate Cookies

Easy No-Bake Chocolate Cookies 150 gms butter
1 3/4 cup sugar substitute (Equal or Sugar Free Natura)
1/2 cup skimmed milk
150 gms grated cooking chocolate
2 teaspoons Cocoa powder
3 cups Oats (Quaker, Baggrys etc)

Mix cocoa powder, sugar substitute and butter in the milk and heat. Once boiled, add the grated cooking chocolate and mix till the chocolate has melted. Put on the fire and cook for three minutes. Keep stirring continuously. Remove the pan from the fire and add the oats to the chocolate mix. Mix nicely. Grease a cake tin with butter and put the mixture in it. Leave to set till the mixture becomes firm. Once set, remove from the cake tin and cut into round cookie shape. You can also cut into squares if you prefer.

These cookies are extremely easy to prepare and do not require any baking. Just be sure to cook the chocolate mixture for the specified time only and not more or less time as the cookies may then become too dry or will not set properly. If you have not consumed these delicious cookies as soon as they are made, store in a jar with an airtight lid.
