Penne with pesto sauce
Ingredients
1/2 cup walnut pieces
3/4 cup basil leaves
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1/2 cup olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
4 boneless chicken breasts
2 cups pre-cooked penne pasta
1/2 cup diced tomato
1 tbsp oil
Method
To prepare the pesto sauce- Blend basil, garlic, oil, salt and pepper, until it forms a smooth paste. Coat the pesto lightly on the chicken with a brush. Place in on a pre- heated grill and cook for 6 minutes. Turn over and cook for an additional 4 minutes.
Put the pan on moderate heat, add the boiled pasta along with the remaining pesto and toss well. Spoon the hot pasta on two serving plates (preferably pre-heated), slice the chicken breasts and fan over the top. Drizzle 1 tsp of oil. Lightly garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve warm. The pasta tastes equally good if served cold with this sauce.
Macaroni with cheese sauce
Ingredients
Macaroni pasta- 2 cups boiled
For the sauce
Butter- 2 tbsp
Flour- 2 tbsp
Milk- 3 cups
Salt and pepper to taste
Chilly flakes- 2 tsp
Herbs- 2 tsp
Grated cheese- 2-3 tbsp
Method
Boil the macaroni and keep aside. To prepare the sauce, cook the butter and the flour together for 2 minutes. Add the boiled milk and whisk well to make a nice white sauce. Add macaroni and salt and pepper to taste. Add the grated cheese and herbs and mix well. Garnish with more grated cheese, and serve hot.
