Recipes For Ganesh Chaturthi

Undrallu (Savoury Rice Laddoos)
Ingredients
2 cups rice rava
1/4 cup chana dal
4 cups water
1 tsp ghee
1/2 tsp salt
Preparation
Soak the chana dal in water for 10 minutes. Drain and keep aside. Heat ghee in a pan and cook the chana dal on slow heat for 15 seconds till lightly golden. Next add the water to the pan and bring to a boil. Add salt and rice rava to the water and keep stirring so that the mixture does not become lumpy. When all the water has been absorbed into the rice rava and the mixture becomes thick, cover the pan and cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
Allow the mixture to cool, but only as much as you can work with it. Form into balls of desired size.
Tip: You may add some grated vegetables (carrot, doodhi, beans) to the mixture when cooking to enhance the taste of the savoury rice laddoos and make them even healthier.
All the above recipes are appropriate to be offered as prasadam to Lord Ganesha.
