Understanding stress
|
As individuals, we have different perceptions of a relationship vis-a-vis ones self. For example: how good a husband a man is, only the wife is in a position to assess. How good a boss is only the subordinates know. All others have the perception of an outsider. Even parents, siblings, relatives and friends and colleagues are outsiders and not equipped to assess the same. Perceiving the other partner in the referred relationship-boss, subordinate, colleague as the case may be - includes understanding and appreciation of that individual. This understanding includes awareness of the background - family, education, economical, cultural, psychological etc. Appreciation includes, not being critical but supportive. These avoid the build up of stress and if stress is exists, it will help in diluting it.
I believe that one should know one's self and one's body first, because this is concrete and is easily accessible, which in turn enhances positive outlook and helps one de-stress and relax. Meditation and various yogic asanas can be practiced to deal with stress.
One has to accept that emotional stress will always be there and can never be eliminated. What is important is to make the same work for you. A life without stress is utopian and in today's time unimaginable. One can use the power of stress as an engine, if one understands the positive way to steer it.
