Effective Communications
Mohan Raj asks,
I speak very fast and this affects my chances of getting the right job. Even though I have sound knowledge about things I can't convey it. Kindly advice me as to how I should improve my problem.
Dear Mohan Raj,
Please do a lot of reading. Look at the mirror and speak slowly to self. Take time off to be alone - be alone every day for an hour doing nothing. These are gradual processes but improvement is guaranteed.
Problem With Male Colleagues
Pavithra asks,
I am working now. During my college days I avoided speaking with boys. But here the scenario is very different and often I have to interact with guys. It is getting impossible. Kindly give me some tips to have good relationships with them and also to maintain some distance.
Dear Pavithra,
Very honestly, it will take you some time to get out of the mental block. However, you have already crossed the first hurdle, as you have decided to face it. Now simply make efforts to converse, and socialise. At home, do look at yourself in the mirror and dress well. You will get over your inhibition.
Anger Management
Tracy asks,
I'm confused and facing difficulties in controlling myself all the time. I easily get angry and get upset when there's something against my wish. Like when my boyfriend wants to hang out with his friends I don't like that, I start doubting him. The argument turns sour and the relationship between him and me is getting worse. What can I do?
Dear Tracy,
First calm your mind. For this you can try out yoga, meditation, try to be alone for sometime. Secondly, analyse yourself. When you feel upset, write down your feelings, read it immediately and then read it again after one hour. You will notice changes. Also be occupied.
Intervening On Unconcerned Topics
Samina asks,
I am a 39 years old lady. In the past few years I am noticing changes in myself that I am becoming too chatty and speak to people on different topics whether others are inviting me or not. I openly give my opinions on different issues of life whether others are interested or not. I want to change my habit but find myself helpless.
Dear Samina,
Thank you for your self-awareness. Since you know, make conscious efforts to be quiet. You have not mentioned your background. You could join classes or participate in activities that revolve around Debate, Group Discussions and even take up teaching on behavioural issues. This will help to channelise your tendency. If in Mumbai, you can get in touch with Nrityanjali Institute and be occupied.
Overcome The Indifferences
Muhammad Razi asks,
I am a 30 years old accounting professional. My performance is up to mark but some time I feel low by comments passed on my personality. I also want to count my weaknesses and overcome them. How should I do this?
Dear Muhammad Razi,
You need to address your self-esteem. Do some course in personality development or grooming. If you wish and in Mumbai you could get free counselling from Nrityanjali Institute.
