A heart to heart chat
Nishika asks,
I am getting married after 6 months to a man in the US. Do you think it is right for me to request him to move out of his parent’s home before I join him in order to avoid any unpleasantness?
Dear Nishika,
I think you need to have an honest, heart-to-heart chat with him about this issue. It's not something that can be done by just you requesting and him complying or not complying. Feel free to talk to him. After all, you are going to be married to him...and if you feel that you can't communicate with him, then you need to re-think your decision of marrying him.
Tongue-tied
Sudhanshu asks,
I am tongue-tied when I meet girls making me out to be a dumbo. How do I start a simple but intelligent conversation when I meet girls for the first time?
Dear Sudhanshu,
Talking to girls is not any different from talking to guys. People are people. And if your intention is to impress the girls just because they are girls, then that plan is destined to fail. A great book to read is "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. It will really help you improve your people skills. Enjoy.
Three's company
Sneha asks,
Is it ok to take a friend along with me when I meet up a prospective groom?
Dear Sneha,
If the friend is a trusted, sensible friend, then yes. That's what I used to do! It also helps to relax the atmosphere (if your friend is fun to be with and yet knows how to talk maturely). So, choose your friend carefully because this is serious business.
Peacemaker
Naomi asks,
Can I interfere when two people I know are having an argument? Or should I just wait and watch, let them finish and then speak?
Dear Naomi,
It depends on whether or not you think you can help to make peace. If you feel confident, stable and peaceful, then try and calm things down. If, however, you feel agitated yourself and think that you may make the situation worse...then stay away.
Attire for second wedding
Hemalata asks,
What is appropriate to wear for a second wedding?
Dear Hemalata,
It depends on you! Whatever you like. If you feel like it's the first time, feel free to go all out. If, however, you want to tone down, then wear wedding colours but in a simpler design. In traditional weddings, the colours are usually important because of their significance. How elaborate the dress is, is entirely up to you.
