Is It Time To Meet Offline?
|
There was a time when not many people looked at online dating and matrimonial sites as a viable way to search for their life partners. However, today more and more people are registering themselves on dating and personals websites, as that is one of the fastest ways to meet new people.
So, you've found someone great online and chat with him practically every day. One day you get a message that your online friend wants to meet. But is that really such a great idea? Here's how you will know when it is time to actually meet someone in person.
The first thing that most women do when they get a message from a great guy who wants to meet them offline is send his profile and picture to 2-3 very close friends for their expert opinion. It makes sense to do that because your friends are not as close to the situation as you are and will be able to offer you impartial advice.
But your friends' advice is not all you're going to count on. Here are four signs that will help you determine if it is time to meet face-to-face.
- Chemistry is the name of the game
Yes, we know that you have not yet met him personally, but even through regular chats and emailing you can definitely tell whether a guy seems hot and is into you or if he is a wet rag. If you find that you look forward to your daily chats with him and if the screen sizzles every time he's online, then the chemistry is strong and you should explore meeting him personally. Just imagine what may happen without a computer separating you!
- Feeling anticipation and excitement
You get the ping of an instant message and you immediately leave everything you're doing to check whether the message is from him. You're giddy with excitement when it is and feel extremely disappointed if it's just another friend. If such kind of anticipation is building in you, then you should definitely meet the guy, if for no other reason than simply to satisfy your curiosity!
- Burning up the phone lines
You'll have already moved on to talking over the phone from just chatting online. You enjoy talking to him so much that you don't worry whether it is an incoming or outgoing call for you and don't even bother to find out if you can get the whole reliance-to-reliance free thing going! If that's the case, then it is definitely time to meet your guy offline.
- Dropping hints
Many guys have the tendency to drop hints without actually coming right out and asking you. For instance, your guy asks you if you have been to a particular restaurant, which apparently has great Chinese food, but then does not extend an actual invitation to go there. What he's basically trying to do is test the waters before he takes the plunge, or perhaps he is just a little shy. So, the next time he hints at something, help him out a little and say something like, "I haven't been there; why don't we try it out sometime?"
If the above signs exist and you do make up your mind to meet him offline, make sure that you plan to meet him in a public place such as at a restaurant or the mall. Tell at least 2 of your friends where you're going and who you're meeting with and ask them to call you at a specified time when you'll be about half an hour into your date. That way, if things aren't going as great as you expected, you'll have an excuse to leave!
