Myths And Facts About Eye Health
|
Most of us have heard our parents telling us, ''Don't do that or you will spoil your eyes!'' In fact, most of us have probably said the same thing to our children at some point too. However, do you really know what harms your eyes and what doesn't?
For instance, children have a tendency to roll and cross their eyes just for fun. As parents, the first thing we tell them is, "Don't cross your eyes or else they will stay that way forever. Do you want to become cock-eyed?" However, this is just a myth. The fact is that crossing your eyes deliberately will not cause them to become crossed forever, nor can you become cock-eyed by doing so.
Some people also believe that if a child has crossed eyes, they will outgrow that when they grow up. But, just as you cannot become cock-eyed by crossing your eyes, similarly if someone has a problem of crossed eyes, the problem will not take care of itself with age. It is necessary to get it diagnosed and treated by a qualified eye doctor.
Here are some more myths and facts about eye health, which will help you, gauge how much you really know about your eyes.
