Am I a virgin?

I was about 10 or 12 years old when a man had sex with me. I was too young to know anything. I did whatever he asked me to do. When I was about 21, I had sex with my boyfriend but didn't seem to enjoy it. I am getting married soon and feel scared that my husband might know that I am not a virgin? Will I be able to satisfy him?
Dear Ruby,
It's very unfortunate that you were sexually abused as a child. This can cause a lot of psychological trauma, and can affect your sexual desire. However, it was not your fault, and you should not blame yourself - you were an innocent victim. No, your husband is unlikely to find out it you are a virgin or not - and you can enjoy sex like every other woman, once you have got over your guilt complex.
Is masturbation good for health?

I am a 30-year- old man. I had a circumcision done as I couldn't ejaculate after masturbation. After that, whenever I masturbate there is a swelling on the upper surface but no ejaculation. I do have nocturnal emission. I want to know is masturbation good for health? If yes, then why am I not able to ejaculate?
Dear Lokesh,
The very fact that you get a nocturnal emission ( wet dream) means you have no medical problem. Circumcision ( removal of the foreskin) does not affect your sexual ability. Masturbation is safe, and has no ill-effects. The most likely reason you are not ejaculating while masturbating is that you are stopping too soon. Using a lubricant and a vibrator may help.
I feel I have a really small vagina.

I feel I have a really small vagina. I am a 23- year- old girl and every time my fiance and I try to have sex, he is unable to get his penis into my vagina. Even with the use of lubrication, I am unable to open wide enough. If he gets in, it really hurts and I have to pull back. Is something is wrong with my vagina? Please help us as it's really frustrating for our relationship.

No, there is nothing wrong with you. Every woman's vagina is elastic and can stretch enough to allow a baby's head to pass through ( and a baby's head is far larger than a man's penis) I would suggest you insert your fingers into your vagina, so you become comfortable with your own anatomy, and lose your fear about having a small vagina.
Married since 3 years but not conceived

I have been married since 3 years but have not conceived yet. Also, the pain I feel during my periods is only on one side of my body. Is it due to ovulation?
Dear Pamela,
If you have failed to conceive after trying for more than a year, you have what is called primary infertility. This is usually due to a medical problem, either with your eggs; your fallopian tubes; or with your husband's sperm. You need to do the following medical tests:
1. semen analysis for your husband;
2. blood tests for FSH,LH,PRL and TSH for you ;
3. a HSG ( hysterosalpingogram, X-ray of the uterus and tubes);so we can find out if there is a medical problem causing your infertility. If there is a problem, then we can treat it ! Your chances of conceiving with the right treatment are excellent, if you are young.
