What are the treatment options for male pattern baldness?
- Medication: Some hair re-growth occurs in about 2 in 3 men who start anti-hair loss medication in early stages. In about 1 in 3 men there is no hair re-growth, but most do not have any further hair loss whilst taking the medicines. So, if you are on medications you have a good chance that hair will re-grow, or at least stop any further hair loss. It takes about 4 months for any effect to be noticed, and up to 1-2 years for full hair growth.
- Surgical: Techniques such as hair transplantation, is considered in later stages of hair loss and the procedure gives very good results. You will start noticing the growth in 3-4 months and they become thicker in 6-8 months time.
- Non-Surgical: Non-surgical hair system is an artificial hair system attached to the scalp with special glues. The hair used are matched according to your hair colour and texture. It can be worn for days together even while sleeping and can be maintained in good condition with little care.
