Summer Wedding
Makeup and hair tips for the summer bride
|
For the evenings
The evenings call for a more bright makeup -- lots of shimmer and gloss to get that dazzling affect. As far as possible go bare minimum with foundation.
- Foundation: For the evenings, you can use a generous amount of foundation and then apply compact powder over it. Blushers for the cheek are highly recommended for a sparkling shine. Go for shades of pink, bronze and gold.
- Lips: Brighter colours for the lips like bronze, gold and mahogany are in vogue and look trendy. While choosing lip colours always keep in mind to use colours that make you look fresh and younger. Also, keep in mind your skin tone and use lip colours that go with it, instead of blindly following trends.
- Eyes: Again you can experiment a lot with your eyes in the evenings. Use bolder colours for eye shadows and eye highlighters like purple, bronze, gold and copper. Mascara and eyeliners are a must.
Hair Care
- Keep your hair healthy and clean during the summers, and always use tap water as the last rinse. Use a mild shampoo, probably having a Ph of 7, to keep away from chemicals. Almond shampoo from Kuene is highly effective for the summer hair.
- As for hairstyles, don't cut it too short so that you can tie it up in the hot afternoons. Medium to long haircuts are best for the summer bride.
- Your hair type (length, thickness and texture) determine your haircut. Be careful to choose a hairstyle that suits your face, instead of going for trends. After all it's the best time of your life and you wouldn't want to spoil it with a bad and messy haircut!
Expert Tips
- To see that your makeup is in place, keep dabbing your face with a wet tissue (you can also use a mulmul cloth). It would also give you a fresh feel.
Also, use aloe-vera products for your skin and hair during summers as its a natural coolant and antiseptic and also retains the moisture of your skin and hair during summers. You can even rub of the aloe-vera juice (which you get from the leaf) on your face or hair to keep your hair healthy during the summers.
- Go for regular cleanups and facials to keep your skin clean and clear.
- Lastly, drink lots of water and juices (coconut water) during summers. This may sound repetitive, but water is certainly the best remedy for your summer skin. Also, keep away from oily and spicy food because what you eat shows on your skin.
