It's summer again. The sun's mean, the weather's unfriendly and as a result the skin is oily. Add to it the changing fashions and we are compelled to take a re-look at our beauty regimes. Shaaditimes speaks to Cory Walia, the Makeover Man, who shares his make-up mantras for this summer.
For a bright and sunny day
Let's begin with sorting out make-up for day- time everyday wear. The ground rule in summer make-up is that it should make the person look and feel non-oily. Foundation in this season is not necessary at all, unless your job demands it. Opt for an oil-free foundation for the lasting dry look. Otherwise, a compact is anyways best for oil-control.
Some people feel that skin does not need moisturising in summer. This is a huge myth. Skin needs moisture all the time and especially if you have a regular routine of cleansing, toning and moisturising, then by no means should you stop it in summer! The only change you can go for in summer is using an oil-free moisturiser. After moisturising your skin use an oil-free compact. Compacts come in 2-3 varieties ranging from dry, damp, cream to powder, which stay put and absorb oil from the skin.
 Eyes right
For the eyes, the rule stays the same. No cream shadow. It becomes oily, runny, collects in the creases and looks bad. Powder is the best option with vibrant and fresh colours like pink, orange, blue, green. Mascara is safe but eyeliner again has to be matte. Pencils are a strict no-no as they too become melty in the heat.
Summer fashion for the eyes is unlimited. Coloured eyeliners are in, in a big way and what's more it works better for the lower lid! The trick is to apply liquid liner very close to the lashes on the lower lid. Avoid kajal and pencil liners, as they tend to run in the heat after some time.
Summer make-up is about fun. Metallic colours like bronze, gold, purple all look fabulous and catchy. Funky metallic eye shadow will jazz up your summer look like nothing else.
