Dr. Jamuna Pai helps transform the bride-to-be into a Bollywood beauty

Skin care begins the day we step into this world. The extremes of temperatures, stress, various external as well as internal, the continuous hammer of food items and cosmetic products, all have a continuous deleterious effect on the skin. Continuous sun exposure speeds up the ageing process of the skin.

When it comes to being a bride, there are also some added tensions and stresses. A bride has always to look good. The moment the marriage dates are fixed up with may be 1 month or 6 months notice, the girls mind is flooded with all types of tensions. We would just touch up a few important issues of skin and hair care, which if attended to, a few months earlier, can result in amazing, clear and glowing skin.

  • Bride has 5-6 months to prepare. Relax.
  • Just 1-2 months? Don’t worry.
  • Chat Mangni Pat Byah? We can still do it.
  • Sex Education

If the bride has a few months for the marriage say 5-6 or more that gives us enough time to attend to most of the problems of that age.

Glow-rious Signs
* Hair care

Dandruff should be treated with a weekly wash by a good medicated anti dandruff shampoo. Hair color, though damaging when used repeatedly can be used to cover white / gray hair and otherwise just streaking the hair is good. Excessive hair fall, which could be due to severe dieting, nutritional deficiency or some other systemic cause should & can be treated.

* Acne (pimples)
Depending on the extent or severity of acne, systemic antibiotics or topical medications or both are required. Picking on acne should be avoided. Some simple home care remedies also help to a great extent. Seek the help of your doctor in such case.

Glow-rious Signs * Acne Scares & Pigmentation

A very distressing condition, which is not always totally curative. Repeated chemical (fruit acid) peels at monthly intervals coupled with microdermabrasion and aggressive topical medications are required. Depending on the type and depth of pigmentations, tasters can be used.

* Skin Care in General

Starting from adequate water intake, frequent small nutritious diet, multi vitamin tablets to using sunscreen as a good moisturizer, is very important. Home remedies like rubbing citrus fruits like orange, or papaya or cucumber are good for removing the tan. Consult your skin specialist today and get into a skin care regime.
