Laser hair removal

Divya asks,
I have thick hair on my chin and cheeks. Every month I need to wax it or thread it. It is very tedious. Can you please suggest any permanent and reliable solution for this?
Dear Divya,

Facial hair is because of hormonal imbalance, which could be due to PCOD. In PCOD, the male hormone becomes dominant and shows its effect in the form of acne, irregular periods or hair at unusual places. Laser hair removal is the safest and most effective method. If the nature of your hair is thick and dark, it will respond well. Laser treatment with "Diode Hair Removal Laser" removes dark hair permanently and reduces fine hair. 4-6 sittings are required at an interval of 4-6 weeks to get the desired results.

Dry but sensitive skin

Zulfiqar asks,
I have very dry skin. How can I cleanse, tone and moisturize it? What should I do to make it look beautiful? Please advice.
Dear Zulfiqar,

Since your skin is dry and sensitive use a cleanser, like Cetaphil, meant for sensitive skin. Use it once or twice in a day. Do not use a toner on a regular basis, since it can cause further dryness. Use a sunscreen of SPF 20 or above and reapply every 3 - 4 hrs. At night use creams containing anti-wrinkles, anti-aging factors like retinal palmitate. This helps in delaying the process of aging and wrinkles. Creams containing Vitamin-C, Kojic acid or Hydroquinone when applied at night will help in lightening it to a certain extent.

Tanning

Sonal asks,
I have sunburn on my face due to which my skin has taken a two-tone hue. It becomes dark as soon as I go in the sun. Also, I sweat a lot.
Dear Sonal

An uneven skin tone on the face is usually a result of sun exposure. Skin on sun-exposed areas tends to show darker shades than sun-protected sites. Use a good sunscreen of SPF 20 or above on a regular basis. Reapply every 3-4 hrs. Use skin lightening creams containing Vitamin-C, Kojic acid or Hydroquinone at night.
