In the olden days, a traditional Indian wedding called for an enormousamount of elaborate preparations. This included the tender loving skills of assorted grandmothers, aunts and a horde of other skilled craftswomen skilled in 'mehndi' application, massage with aromatic oils, haldi anointing etc. Every stage was acelebration of her youth and beauty on the threshold of the joys of matrimony.

The Perfect LookEven today, despite our westernized attitudes we indulge in all these rites and rituals in glorious Technicolor. But first of all to bring the best out in a bride her general health, especially of the skin is very essential to make her glow with confidence and radiance and enhance the beauty of her clothes and jewellery.

Skincare for a bride should start as soon as she is engaged or at least two to three months before the actual date of the wedding. The skin type should be identified and the regime for that skin type followed.

Certain general guidelines would be:-
  • Keeping stress levels low.
  • Eating a well balanced diet and not skipping meals.
  • Sleeping for at least eight hours every night.
  • Keeping the hair clean, free of parasites and dandruff, etc.
  • Keeping the skin clean by washing at least three to four times a day.
  • Taking in at least an hours' exercise.
  • Drinking at least eight to ten glasses of water everyday.

Concluding Issue: Specific care for specific skin types
