My elder sister is 23 yrs old and she has lot of pimples (acne) on her face, and when they go they leave marks on her face. She has tried everything possible but nothing suited her - in fact it has worsened. She has hair growth on her face so I wanted a remedy for that also. I mean if she wants to do laser hair removal treatment are there any side effects. By when her face might get cleared? What is the cost of the treatment and could you please suggest a clinic where this treatment is certified?

Acne is a result of excessive oil secretion, which in turn is influenced by male hormones that are present in female bodies in smaller quantities. Antibiotics will temporarily help in controlling the acne.
The OC pill is used in select cases as it contains the female hormones that neutralize the effect of excess male hormone. Consult a dermatologist who would decide if it is applicable for you. Chemical peel, microdermabrasion are quite safe and effective for acne scars, if done by a trained professional. Skin lightening agents like Vitamin C, Kojic acid, Hydroquinone when applied on dark patches at night will help in lightening provided if supplemented with a good sunscreen during the day and repeated every 3 -4 hrs.
Diode Hair removal is safe and effective treatment if done by trained professional. It removes dark hair permanently and reduces the fine hair. Laser sessions are spaced at 4 to 6 weeks interval and 4 to 6 sittings will give you the desired results.

Skin on sun-exposed areas tends to be darker than other parts of the body. Use a good sunscreen (SPF 30 or above) 2-3 times a day. Lemon juice, oranges, lactic acid in milk and milk products are natural lightening agents. You can use them once / twice a week. It lifts the tan, takes off the dead skin cells and helps in lightening.
